Laptop repair

Laptop repair in Amstelveen — you know the price before I collect it

Broken screen, keyboard, battery or water damage. You hear roughly what it costs and how long it takes first; only then do you decide. Usually your laptop is back within 2 to 3 working days, 5 working days at the most. Serving Amstelveen, Uithoorn, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Aalsmeer, Amsterdam-Buitenveldert.

What’s wrong with your laptop?

Click on what’s going on — I’ll pre-fill the form for you.

What does it cost, roughly?

Indicative prices including part, labour and VAT. The exact price for you depends on your brand and model — you’ll hear that before I take your laptop, and you decide only after that.

Repair Windows laptop MacBook
Screen broken or cracked €185 – €265 €385 – €625
Replace keyboard €125 – €185 €285 – €465
Battery doesn’t last long anymore €115 – €175 €165 – €275
Water damage Vanaf €95 Vanaf €125
Hinge or casing loose €135 – €195 €225 – €375
Won’t start anymore Vanaf €95 Vanaf €125

For water damage and a laptop that no longer starts, I can’t give a price range upfront: what’s broken only becomes clear once it’s opened up. The amount shown is what the diagnosis and cleaning costs; you’ll hear first what’s needed after that.

Turns out the repair is more expensive or no longer worth it? Then I’ll call you with the new price. If the part hasn’t been ordered yet, you get the deposit back and only pay the €35 trip fee — nothing if you brought it in yourself. If it has already been ordered, the deposit for that stays in place.

Drop off or have it picked up

Either way works — you choose what suits you best.

Drop off yourself — free

By appointment at my place in Amstelveen. You’ll get the address upon confirmation.

Have it picked up — €35

One fee for the whole trip: I pick it up and bring it back.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell me what’s wrong

Brand, model and the issue. Don’t know the model? No problem, we’ll figure it out together.

  2. Step 2

    Get a price estimate

I call you back with a rough cost and turnaround time. Nothing happens until you say yes.

  3. Step 3

Drop it off or have it picked up

Bring it by appointment, or I collect it for €35 — pickup and return both included. From there it goes to my trusted repair partner.

  4. Step 4

    Get it back working

Not just fixed, but tested and ready to use again before I hand it back — so you can pick up where you left off. Nothing else for you to do.

“A reliable address in Amstelveen. My computer — with Flight Simulator among other things — was completely messed up and had become unusable. Mr Aldewereld was the rescuer in need and, with his enormous knowledge, got everything working again. The terms agreed in advance, such as the rate, are very reasonable. Frequently asked questions

What does a repair cost?

That depends on your brand and model. You’ll get a price estimate before I take your laptop, and you only decide after that — so there’s never a surprise.

How long does it take?

Usually 2 to 3 working days; I aim for 5 working days at the most. If a part takes longer to arrive than planned, I’ll let you know in good time.

Do I need to pay upfront?

Once you agree to go ahead, I ask for a deposit to cover the part. We just discuss that by phone, so you know exactly where you stand.

What if the repair turns out not to be worth it?

Then I call you with the new price and you decide. Cancel before I’ve ordered the part and you get the deposit back, paying only the €35 trip fee — nothing at all if you dropped it off yourself. I’ll flag that moment in advance, so you know in time.

What warranty do I get?

Three months on my work, plus the manufacturer’s warranty on the part — on top of your statutory rights, which simply keep applying. That warranty doesn’t cover damage that occurs after handover or a repair someone else carries out afterwards, and it doesn’t cover water damage either: corrosion can still cause problems months later, and I’d rather tell you that upfront than after the fact.

Are my files safe?

I handle your data carefully: at intake I note the condition of the device and the reported issue, and your data stays yours. With a hardware repair, data loss can never be ruled out completely, so I recommend a backup. Don’t have one yet? I’ll sort that before anything else happens.

Do you work outside Amstelveen?

Yes: Amstelveen, Uithoorn, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Aalsmeer, Amsterdam-Buitenveldert. Not sure if you’re just outside the area? Give me a call and I’ll tell you straight away.

Do you repair phones too?

No. I only do laptops and MacBooks. That’s what I’m good at, and there’s plenty of choice for phones in Amstelveen.
