Slow wifi or keeps dropping out? Here’s what to do
Is your internet glitchy or does the wifi keep dropping? These steps solve a lot yourself — and tell you when in-home help is faster.
1. Restart your modem and router
Unplug for 30 seconds and plug back in. Wait until all lights are steady again. This fixes a surprising number of glitches.
2. Check whether it’s your provider
Look at the status page of Ziggo, KPN or Odido, or test with a network cable. If wired works fine, the problem is in the wifi.
3. Too far from the router, or a thick house?
Thick walls and multiple floors weaken the signal. An extra wifi point (mesh) gives good coverage everywhere — better than a single extender.
4. Too many devices or an old router
Smart devices, cameras and phones all share the wifi. An outdated router from years ago is often the real bottleneck.
5. When to get help
Still slow or dropping out? I come to your home, measure the signal and set up the right fix. First hour always charged in full, no call-out fee.
